It's a good time to (re)introduce myself! I'm Alison King, owner of King Career Services. I'm a one-woman operation, so I do it all.
First of all, if you're a librarian/library worker, I get you. I started working at a local library at age 16 and went on to earn my MLIS and have a decade-long career in libraries (academic/medical, public/youth services, and middle school/independent school). I loved it...until I didn't anymore.
In April 2022, I launched my own non-library job search and, using skills and experience I gained from my freelance editing business, landed my current FT role as a copyeditor at a digital marketing agency.
Along the way, I also found that I loved resume writing for clients as my part-time business. Thus, King Career Services was born. Now, I help clients (very often, librarians) take the next bold leap in their career, whether that's moving up in their current industry or making a career switch, like I did.

The main thing I want you to remember is this: You're not alone. I've been there, and I know what it's like to be a librarian grappling with aspects of this career--or maybe wondering what else is out there. I'm excited to get to know you and help you on this journey!
