Your resume is NOT a career obituary

Did you know…?

You don’t have to put every job you’ve ever had on your résumé! In fact, it’s almost certainly smarter not to. To paraphrase the brilliant Norine Dagliano, NCRW, NCOPE, your résumé is NOT an obituary of your career. ⚰️ 💀

Be selective and include relevant, recent experience only. Employers want to know that you can solve their problems. The bullet points of your resume should (ideally) show how you have solved similar problems in previous positions. Those are the only accomplishments should get included on your resume.

Now go celebrate the fact that you can save yourself the time of typing up your entire work life story!
